After month’s of rumours and guessing, Samsung have pulled out a surprise early event for the Samsung Galaxy S10 launch, one week ahead of MWC (Mobile World Congress).
Confirmed officially in a tweet today from the smartphone company, the event will take place on February 20 2019, at 11am Pacific time, so that’s 7pm here in the UK. It’s taking place in San Francisco, although there are similar supporting events happening around the world, including London.

Whilst Samsung hasn’t officially confirmed it’s the S10 that will be announced, the massive 10 on the image tweeted has us pretty excited, especially as it’s also the 10 year anniversary of the Galaxy flagship series. Just what are they going to unveil?
There are also unconfirmed rumours that Samsung will announce a folding-screen phone alongside the S10 which would be a first for the brand. It’s technology we’ve already seen in LG’s new foldable TV at CES in Vegas but it’ll be interesting to see how Samsung incorporate the tech into a smartphone.
What’s also suprising is that Samsung have taken the unexpected move of announcing the phone ahead of the massive smartphone conference in Barcelona; MWC. This is where Samsung first announced the Samsung Gear VR headset (featuring a cameo by Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg). It was widely expected that this is where we would first see the Samsung Galaxy S10 officially confirmed.
