Samsung launched their full size Galaxy S5 smartphone earlier this year to much acclaim and fantastic reviews. Just a few months later Samsung have announced details of an exciting new addition to their Galaxy range of smartphones, the S5 Mini, which is expected to hit stores at the end of this month. Here are the details and those all important specs for the Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini.
If you like your smartphones to be small and compact and to fit into the smallest of bags or comfortably in your pocket then check out the S5 Mini. The Galaxy S5 Mini comes with a decent sized screen for a scaled down handset with a 4.5-inch, 720 x 1280 resolution (326 pixels per inch) Super AMOLED display. Like the original S5, it boasts a fingerprint sensor which is PayPal certified and it’s IP67 certified which means its dust resistant and can withstand water up to 1 metre in depth for up to 30 minutes. The S5 Mini is quite similar in design to the S5 and weighs 120 grams. It’s also going to be available in 4 colours – black, white, gold and blue.
As well as the fingerprint sensor, the S5 Mini also features the heart-rate monitor along with the popular S Health app so you can enjoy some superb Samsung features at a very competitive price. The S5 Mini is also compatible with 4G so users can make the most of super fast download and upload speeds.
The main camera on the rear of the S5 Mini is an 8-megapixel snapper which features autofocus, an LED flash, panorama and HDR. On the front is a 2.1-megapixel camera which videos in 1080p at 30 frames per second.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini runs on the very latest Android 4.4 operating system and it uses Samsung’s TouchWiz interface. It’s powered by a quad-core 1.4GHz processor together with 1.5GB of RAM. There’s a decent amount of built-in memory storage with 16GB available and with a MicroSD sot on board, this can be increased further if needed up to 64GB maximum. For a mini smartphone, the 2100mAh battery will certainly provide enough charge to give more than a day’s average use.
