Samsung have another great handset to add to their Galaxy collection of phones with the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini which should be available in July 2013. A smaller sibling to the original S4, it will make its official debut at Samsung’s product event in London on the 20th June.
So how does it compare to the Galaxy S4? The S4 Mini comes with a screen size of 4.3-inches compared to the 5-inch screen of the S4 a(nd the smaller 4-inch screen of the S3 Mini.) The S4 Mini is fairly similar in terms of styling and weighs 107 grams compared to the S4’s 130 grams. It is slightly thicker than it’s big brother and will initially be available in just black and white although that could change once it’s more widely available.
The Galaxy S4 Mini also boasts a Super AMOLED screen with 255 pixels per inch and comes with 8GB of internal storage which can be significantly expanded by use of the microSD slot. Running-wise the S4 Mini is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 1.7GHz dual-core processor and a decent RAM of 1.5GB.
Both the S4 and the S4 Mini use the same TouchWiz software which has some great new features including the revamped S Health and WatchON which means you can use your phone as a remote control for your TV and other gadgets thanks to its IR transmitter.
The S4 Mini also boasts some pretty decent hardware for photos with an 8-megapixel camera with LED flash at the rear and a good quality 1.9-megapixel camera at the front.
