Samsung have been busy working on two brand new smartphones to add to their Galaxy series. First up is the top-end Samsung Galaxy Alpha which is expected to be hitting stores mid September and second up is a new phablet Smartphone, only known as SM-G739F as at present its name is being kept under wraps.
The Samsung Galaxy Alpha is Samsung’s latest premium handset. Dubbed as the sleekest and most stylish Galaxy smartphone so far, the Alpha certainly looks the part with its metal designed frame and super grippable rear cover. The Galaxy Alpha comes in a choice of 4 colours which are Charcoal Black, Dazzling White, Frosted Gold and Scuba Blue and offers a 4.7-inch HD Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 312 pixels per inch.
One thing that certainly stands out on the Galaxy Alpha is it’s slimness and ultra light weight, it measures just 6.7mm in depth and weighs in at 115g. Similar to Samsung’s recent top notch smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S5, it also comes with a heart rate sensor and fingerprint scanning technology.
Inside, the Galaxy Alpha is powered by a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor and 2GB of RAM. It doesn’t feature a micro SD slot but the 32GB onboard storage should be sufficient for most users. The main 12-megapixel camera on the rear comes with real-time HDR, autofocus and an LED flash and is capable of shooting videos in 4k. On the front is a decent 2.1-megapixel camera which is ideal for those all important selfies and video calling.
Details on the SM-G739F smartphone are still emerging but it’s thought that it will feature a 5.5-inch 720p display and will be a great value, mid-range handset to complement the premium Galaxy Note series of smartphones.
The SM-G739F is likely to launch later on this year and is expected to feature a quad-core Snapdragon processor, 1.2 or 1.5GB of RAM along with 16GB of onboard memory. Running on Android KitKat 4.4.4, the SM-G739F is anticipated to come with an 8-megapixel camera on the rear complete with a flash, autofocus and face detection. The front-facing camera is likely to come with a 2-megapixel lens.
We’ll be sure to bring you the latest details on the both new Samsung Galaxy smartphones as soon as we get it.
