A New Smartphone from Samsung – the Galaxy A7

Samsung-Galaxy-A7-Specifications-1_thumbThe designers and engineers at Samsung have been incredibly busy lately with a whole range of smartphones appearing from the Korean mobile phone manufacturer. The most recent smartphone to make its debut is their Samsung Galaxy A7, a premium-looking handset but priced very competitively and it’s certainly a welcome addition to the A series of Galaxy smartphones.

The A series was created to offer very affordable, high spec handsets which will appeal to the mid market. The new Galaxy A7 is a lovely looking smartphone which is similar in design to the Samsung Galaxy Alpha. It features a generous 5.5-inch HD Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and it’s extremely slim at just 6.3mm as well as lightweight as it only weighs 141 grams. The Galaxy A7 comes in a selection of 3 colours which are Midnight Black (a dark blue), Pearl White and Champagne Gold).

On the rear of the Samsung Galaxy A7 is a very good 13-megapixel camera with features an LED flash and autofocus. There are the usual Samsung camera modes such as touch focus, face detection and panorama. The front-facing camera is a generous 5-megapixel snapper perfect for selfies and video calls.

On the inside, the Galaxy A7 has a quad-core 1.5GHz processor which combines with 2GB of RAM. It comes with 16GB of expandable onboard storage which can be increased to a maximum of 64GB thanks to the microSD slot. There’s also a very decent 2600mAh battery which should easily provide a day’s worth of average use per charge. Initially it’s thought that the Galaxy A7 will run on Android KitKat 4.4.4 but it will soon be upgradeable to the latest Android Lollipop 5.0.

The Samsung Galaxy A7 should be hitting UK shores very soon.
