POCO F4 GT and POCO Watch both launching late May along with the brand’s first venture into earbuds
Writing about smartphones has never been more interesting – a surge of new brand entrants over the past few years are bringing new designs and fresh innovations outside of what Apple and Samsung are doing. It’s definitely an exciting time for mobile tech.
Adding to that list of new mobile products is POCO. The Android smartphone brand has announced it’s new flagship model, the POCO F4 GT, alongside their first connected products – the POCO Buds Pro Genshin Impact Edition and POCO Watch.
The POCO F4 GT is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, a 6.67-inch AMOLED display, and some fancy LiquidCool Technology. The phone also features mechanical shoulder triggers that pop up and hide using magnets, which can be used for gaming. JBL speakers and RGB lighting add to the set-up, making this phone one that POCO aim to appeal to mobile gamers.
Security comes in the form of a side-mounted fingerprint scanner built into the power button.
The main camera sensor used on the Poco F4 GT is the 64-megapixel Sony IMX686 sensor, 8-megapixel ultrawide, and 2-megapixel macro. Around the front you’ll find a 20 megapixel selfie camera.
One of the standout features of the phone is the new 120W HyperCharge and 4,700mAh battery that can be fully charged in just 17 minutes.
The battery (yep, batteries are an exciting phone feature now), uses AdaptiveCharge which stops the battery from overcharging in the 80%-100% range if you leave it on charge overnight.
The POCO Buds Pro Genshin Impact Edition earbuds feature active noise cancellation and a 28 hour battery life.
POCO Watch including 100 fitness modes, a 24 hour heart rate monitor and a 14 day battery life.
Pricing and availability
The POCO F4 GT is available in two variants, 8GB+ 128GB and 12GB+ 256GB priced at €599 and €699 (UK pricing to be confirmed).
The POCO Buds Pro and POCO Watch will set you back €69 and €79 – nice to seem them both under €100.
From April 28th, POCO F4 GT is expected to launch with a week-long early bird price promo, knocking €100 off the retail price, taking them down to €499 and €599.
