If you love to take great pictures with your smartphone, than the Nokia Lumia 920 might well be the handset for you.
In terms of design, the Lumia 920 is made from a single piece of polycarbonate into which sits a curved screen made from Gorilla Glass 2. Fitting perfectly into the palm of your hand, the Nokia 920 has a satisfying solid build and weights in at 185 grams.
The Nokia Lumia 920 boasts a generous 4.5-inch high resolution IPS LCD touchscreen with 332 pixels per inch (768 x 1280). The screen enjoys strong and vibrant colours and is also super tough thanks to the strengthened Gorilla Glass, although the sensitivity of the touch screen has not been compromised as it will work just as well if you’re wearing gloves or using a pen. The Nokia 920 is wirelessly charged – choose from the various wireless chargers out there including a charging plate or cradle.
The 920 operates on the relatively new Windows Phone 8 operating system. The stylish ‘Live Tile’ interface on the home screen can pull photos through from your Facebook page. The tiles can be customised both in terms of what tiles are included in your homescreen and also in terms of their size (so you can preview information behind the tile) and also the order in which they appear. Windows 8 also features a selection of hubs including the Offices hub with Excel, Word and Powerpoint apps, a People hub with information from your various social media networks and a Rooms and Groups where you can share photos and chat with your friends. Access to Microsoft’s cloud storage SkyDrive is also included with 7GB of storage space free of charge.
The Nokia Lumia 920 features one of the best smartphone cameras which comes in at 8.7-megapixels and boasts Pureview technology, optical image stabilisation, a dual LED flash, autofocus and a Carl Zeiss lens. The front facing 1.3-megapixel camera can record video at 30 frames per second.
The Nokia 920 is powered by a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor and comes with an inbuilt 2000mAh battery which will provide up to17 hours of talktime or up to 16 days on standby.
