nokia-lumia-630-smartphone-jpgWe’ve got lots of exciting new smartphones winging their way to Direct Mobiles as we speak. One of which is the new Nokia Lumia 630, a funky and rather fabulous budget smartphone featuring all the hallmarks of Nokia’s Lumia series of mobile phones.

Of course, the first thing we expect from a Nokia Lumia is that it’s going to come in a range of gorgeous colours, and the 630 doesn’t disappoint, offering uber bright orange, yellow and green as well as the more sober black and white. You can purchase additional covers so you can change the colour of your 630 smartphone whenever you fancy.

The Lumia 630 boasts a generous 4.5-inch screen and design-wise it looks pretty similar to the other handsets in the Lumia range, with a robust, excellent quality and slim build (it’s only 9mm thick). The display on the Lumia 630 is similar to other more expensive smartphones, it features a ClearBlack IPS LCD scratch-resistant display and, like the other Lumia models, the screen is colourful and sharp and offers good viewing from all angles. The display also offers a good resolution of 854 x 480 which translates as a pixel density of 221ppi – not a top of the range resolution, but more than adequate.

As you would expect from a Lumia smartphone, the camera is also very good. The rear mounted camera is 5-megapixels in size and comes with a 4 x digital zoom and autofocus. It also benefits from some great camera apps such as Nokia Refocus, Panorama, Nokia Camera and Cinemagraph to convert your photos into mini animated videos.

The Lumia 630 also runs on Window’s latest Window’s Phone 8.1 operating system which has recently been upgraded and includes some great new apps and brand new features. Check out the new swipe-down notification centre ‘Action Centre’, Wi-Fi Sense for tracking down those all important Wi-Fi hotspots and there’s also the new virtual personal assistant feature, Cortana, and the latest Internet Explorer 11 browser. In addition, the Lumia 630 comes with Nokia MixRadio and XBox Music preloaded.

On the inside, the Nokia Lumia 630 has a quad-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 processor and 512GB of RAM – which makes for decent processing speed – and 8GB of onboard memory. The latter can be expanded up to 128GB with a MicroSD card. There’s also an impressive battery, all 1830mAh of it which gives you more than 13 hours of talk time or 600 hours of music streaming.

We’ll let you know as soon as the Nokia Lumia 630 arrives.  And as it’s us, you’ll know you’ll get a great deal.
