Hello (low cost 5G) Moto

Motorola are already one of the leading market forces when it comes to budget handsets. Their latest offering, the moto g 5G plus has arrived, and sets a new record for the cheapest price at launch, for any 5G phone in the UK. With versions starting at a shockingly low £299 for SIM Free, even the cheapest model of this phone still offers a range of impressive features that mean it doesn’t look out of place alongside the pricier models on the market.

It is undoubtedly the case that superfast 5G connections are likely to be a critical part of the future for smartphones, but with a limited  number of models currently on the market that can support 5G (although that number is rapidly increasing), that means that the moto g 5G plus is a very welcome addition to the range of 5G compatible phones.

Experts are already commenting on the impressive quality of the screen – in fact with a 6.7-inch Full HD+ screen, you may struggle to tell the difference between this and competitor models that are currently marketed for £700+. The pleasing 21:9 aspect ratio is designed to mimic cinematic screens, meaning a great experience for users who want to stream video content.

The phone relies on a Qualcomm-built 765 processor, with the two variants offering either 4GB or 6GB of RAM. The 4GB model comes with 64GB of storage, and starts at £299 – and will be available from a number of suppliers. The slightly more powerful 6GB model has 128 GB of storage, and is exclusively available at Vodafone.

Perhaps one of the features that will really help this phone gain popularity though, is its impressive 5,000mAh battery. Coupled with the quick charging capability, the battery life does look to be one of the features that will really help the moto g 5G Plus hold its own amongst its competitors.

Finally, the phone packs an impressive six cameras in – including a dual-lens and a unique, ultra-wide lens designed specifically for taking selfies. Users are promised the ability to shoot incredible quality DSLR-style images with the main camera, and fantastic close-ups with the integrated Macro Vision camera.

As with all Motorola devices, the moto g 5G Plus offers full integration with Google Services, including a slick Google Photo functionality to easily allow you to store, share and search across all of your images.

You can buy the moto g 5g plus SIM Free and unlocked at Amazon or on a pay monthly contract at Vodafone now.
