We are very excited to announce that the fantastic and brand new HTC One M8 smartphone is available and in stock. The HTC One M8 is the very latest flagship phone from the Taiwanese technology experts and it was launched earlier this week. If you liked the original HTC One or are looking for a premium smartphone at a very competitive price, here’s the lowdown on the M8.
The original HTC One had rave reviews from customers and the mobile phone industry when it made its debut in February last year. HTC have gone several steps further when designing it’s successor the HTC One M8 which boasts lots of upgraded and improved features as well as a few new ones.
HTC have kept the popular premium metallic design and the HTC M8 is available in a choice of 3 colours; Silver, Grey and Gold. As well as a bigger 5-inch Full HD screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920, the camera has been significantly upgraded as has the software and hardware components inside. The new HTC One M8 now features two cameras on the rear. The new Duo Camera means that as well as taking a photo of the image itself, the second camera can add depth and perspective to your shot. HTC have also revamped the camera software so there are lots of tools to retouch and refocus photographs on the go. These include UFocus for changing the focus element of your image, a 3D effect called Dimension Plus and an effect to blur the background to make your subject matter stand out.
HTC have also upgraded their Android-based Sense User Interface. The latest version of Sense 6 has a more modern and flatter look and the built-in apps such as the BinkFeed news streaming has more customisable options. The HTC One M8 has teamed up with fitness gadget experts FitBit and the M8 includes a FitBit App to monitor and motivate your fitness ambitions. Also improved on the M8 are the excellent BoomSound speakers and a new MotionLaunch feature means that the smartphone can anticipate what you are going to do when a call comes in (ie hold it up to your ear so it answers the call for you) and when you’re about to use the camera.
Under the hood, HTC have some great kit making the M8 super fast and powerful. Running on the latest Android KitKat 4.4.2 OS, the M8 is powered by a 2.3GHZ Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor alongside 2GB of RAM. It also comes with either 16GB or 32GB of built-in memory which can be expanded up to 128GB thanks to the MicroSD slot. The HTC One M8 also has a superb 2600mAh battery which gives it a whopping 20 hours of talktime on 3G and several weeks on standby. It also comes with a power saving mode which means it can be used for calls, email and texting for many hours even if there is less than 5% charge on the battery.
