If the speculation is correct, we could soon see the launch of HTC’s forthcoming flagship phone the HTC One 2. For many, its predecessor the HTC One was one of the best smartphones of last year so the HTC One 2 is eagerly anticipated. There are conflicting reports on when HTC will unveil their latest handset, it could at the end of this month at MWC or it could have its very own launch event in March. Let’s have a look at what features the HTC One 2 is expected to have.

It’s thought that in terms of looks and design, the HTC One 2 will be fairly similar to the HTC One with a predominantly metal frame, it’s expected that the buttons on the front will instead be replaced by on-screen buttons. There are indications that the HTC One 2 may boast some sort of scanning technology with possibly a fingerprint scanner located on the rear. The impressive BoomSound speakers on the front of the HTC One are likely to also feature on the One 2.

Screen-wise, the One 2 is thought to sport a 5-inch 1080p LCD screen which will make full use of the handset’s dimensions with very slim bezels at the sides. HTC were the first smartphone manufacturer to bring us an UltraPixel camera which featured larger sensor pixels instead of a high-megapixel count. It’s likely that HTC will offer an improved UltraPixel camera for their One 2 with a higher resolution. Leaks also suggest that the new handset will feature a twin LED flash rather than the single flash on the HTC One.

Reports indicate that the HTC One 2 could be powered by a new Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor and a more powerful 2,900mAh battery. It may also include a microSD card slot to enable the built-in memory to be expanded. We can expect the HTC One 2 to run on the latest Android KitKat 4.4 with an upgraded HTC Sense 6.0 user interface.

We’ll keep you up to date with the very latest on the HTC One 2 as soon as we have it.
