EE, the UK’s biggest and (and if you go by RootMetric’s scores) fastest mobile network, today announced it will be the exclusive UK network operator when the Oppo Reno 5G smartphone launches in the UK later this year.
The Oppo Reno 5G packs a 6.6” FHD AMOLED display, a 4,065 mAh battery and a triple rear camera system. It also features a unique ‘shark fin’ pivot rising camera which gives the phone its impressive edge-to-edge display, with no notch or border. With 8GB of RAM and 256GB of memory, you’ve got plenty of power there to take advantage of Oppo’s cameras and high performance 64bit octa-core processor. How it performs in reality is yet to be confirmed, but we’ll have a full hands-on review here at Direct Mobiles soon, as well as our pick of the best offers available.
EE is switching on 5G in 16 UK cities in 2019. The first launch cities will be the UK’s four capital cities – London, Cardiff, Edinburgh and Belfast – and Birmingham and Manchester.
As well as the six launch cities, through 2019 EE will also be introducing 5G across the busiest parts of ten more UK cities: Glasgow, Newcastle, Liverpool, Leeds, Hull, Sheffield, Nottingham, Leicester, Coventry and Bristol.
