iPhone 11 is here, along with Pro and Pro Max versions.

It feels like we’ve been seeing suggested leaks, rumours and mock-up renders for the iPhone 11 all year. Not a day has gone by when someone hasn’t been speculating or guessing what Apple could have up it’s well-designed sleeve. Well we no longer have to play guessing games as Apple have officially unveiled three new iPhone models at their launch event in California.

The iPhone 11 is the lowest priced of the three, actually coming in cheaper than last year’s iPhone XR at launch.  It means Apple is looking to go up directly against the flagships of Samsung, Huawei, OnePlus and Sony with their base model.

The three models are upgrades of last year’s launches; iPhone XR, iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max. iPhone 11, 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max are all available to pre-order from Friday 13th 2019 at 1pm UK time. We’ll have full details and comparisons of all launch offers from UK retailers and networks on Friday. You can now register for updates.

iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max – features, specs, and improvements

The iPhone 11 Pro is the first ‘pro’ version of an iPhone, in naming terms at least. It’s the flagship model and comes with a 5.8 inch display.

A larger screen version, the iPhone 11 Pro Max, has similar specs but carries a 6.5 inch screen.

The big upgrade to both models is the triple lens camera set up. These cameras sit on a bump on the rear of the phone which doesn’t follow the usual slick-looking Apple design rules. However, it’s the tech inside that counts. The setup includes a standard camera lens, a 4x optical zoom telephoto lens and an ultra-wide lens.

The cameras also include a new Night Mode feature which greatly increases the brightness of your photos taken in the dark. In the demonstration from Apple this was really impressive, but we’ll have to wait and see how it compares with the likes of Google and its impressive Night Sight mode.

When it comes to video, the Pro can shoot in ultra-wide, 4K resolution in an effort to appeal to budding movie makers.

Inside the iPhones, Apple have upgraded the chipset with a new A13 processor. This means games and apps should load nice and fast. Talking of fast, fast charging is also supported, with a fast-charge 18w adaptor included in the box this time.

The battery on the new models should last four times longer than the iPhone XS according to Apple. That should get you around 14 hours of use per day, depending on how you use it of course.

The 11 Pro and Pro Max are available in four colours: good old Space Grey, Midnight Green, Silver and Gold.

The 11 Pro starts at £999 and the Max version is £1,099 – they’re the same prices as last years XS and XS Max. Of course, many people will choose to buy their iPhone on a pay monthly contract. Prices for these will be unveiled by mobile networks on Friday at 1pm (we’ll have a full rundown and comparison of all the launch offers here on Direct Mobiles).

Pre-orders start at 1pm on Friday September 13th with orders shipping a week later on Friday September 20th.

iPhone 11 – features, specs, and improvements

The other model announced by Apple is the iPhone 11, which replaces last year’s iPhone XR. It has a dual-lens camera on the rear and is available in six colours.

Alongside the standard camera lens, the second camera includes a 12MP ultra-wide lens for taking really wide shots. The camera also includes the same Night Mode feature included with the Pro and can shoot video in 4K.

Just like the Pro and Pro Max, the 11 includes Apple’s new A13 chip.
