Many of us live in a pretty busy world. Packed with multitasking, notifications and appointments that can sometimes make concentrating on one task difficult.
Well, some researchers at Cambridge University have been working on a solution with a game. Their software is called Decoder and the researchers claim that it can improve your memory, concentration and numerical skills.
They’ve been running tests to prove these claims with three groups of people. One group played Decoder, another played Bingo, and a third didn’t get to play anything, every day for a month.
At the end of the trial, researchers found that the group that played Decoder showed “significant” improvements in their concentration, so significant that it compared the effects of playing the game to the effect of taking ADHD medication.
The researchers have now licensed the game software to the iPhone app Peak. You can use the app free for some daily brain training but you’ll need a Pro subscription for full access (currently £3/month).
Peak includes over 40 different games created by neuroscientists that test your Memory, Attention, Problem Solving, Mental Agility, Language, Coordination, Creativity and Emotion Control.
It’s well worth giving the free brain workouts a trial and going through the initial assessment. Now relax, focus and improve your day.
