Google have recently released a fantastic new app called Google Camera to rave reviews. If you’ve got an Android smartphone, we would highly recommend that you download it and give it a go.
The new Google Camera is free and is available to use on any device running Android KitKat 4.4 onwards. It’s easy to get to grips with thanks to the sleek and straightforward interface and extra large camera shutter button. Google Camera boasts some great features and effects which mean you can achieve professional standard shots without needing any particular technical know-how.
The Google Camera features include Photo Spheres, Lens Blur, Panorama and a viewfinder which gives you the max resolution for your photos from the sensor and the exact image you see in the viewfinder. Photo Spheres enables you to take a photo of an entire room or landscape in 360 degrees. Lens Blur is probably the most exciting feature on the Google Camera App, Lens Blur gives a lytro-esque effect where you can either blur the background or the subject so you can add a lot of depth to your shots. It’s worth having a play around with as Lens Blur really can give your photographs a professional (and of course flattering!) look. The high resolution Panorama feature is also really good to capture beautiful landscapes and group shots.
Google are also planning some additional features for Google Camera with a Time Lapse Mode, Wide Angle Mode and Advanced Camera Mode likely to be released for the app in the near future.
