It’s not just mobile phone giants Samsung who have been busy over the last few months, Apple have been working on their latest iPhone too – the iPhone 6.

The latest speculation on the iPhone 6 is that it will feature a larger screen than the existing iPhone smartphones with some reports suggesting a 5-inch screen and others indicating a slightly more compact 4.7-inch touchscreen. It’s likely that it will be even slimmer than the iPhone 5S which at 7.6mm is already one of the slimmest handsets on the market. There are rumours claiming that it could follow in the footsteps of the new iPad Air with claims that it could even top the current mobile phone ‘slimness record ‘ of 5.75mm sported by the Vivo X3 smartphone. There are reports which go as far to suggest that the iPhone 6 may only measure around 3mm in depth (!) – the iPhone ‘Vacuum’ perhaps?

Lots of rumours also suggest that the iPhone 6 may come with a brand spanking new A8 processor or the A7 processor could be upgraded. Whatever processor is decided upon, it’s very likely that it will feature 64-bit technology.

There’s some debate on what camera Apple will go with for. Initial reports indicated that it would be a larger megapixel model as the current trend of Apple’s closest competitors is to install more and more powerful mobile phone cameras. However the latest we have is that Apple may in fact go with an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera which will instead boast other improved features such as better optical image stabilisation.

In terms of release date, the iPhone 6 is in the late summer or early Autumn of this year. More rumours are bound to surface before then so we’ll keep you posted as they do.
