If you were impressed by the HTC One and let’s face it many of us were with over 5 million handsets sold in the first month after its launch, it’s certainly worth taking a look at the HTC One Max. HTC’s latest handset
is bigger in pretty much every way. Here’s all you need to know about this phone come tablet.
Sporting a whopping 5.9-inch screen, the HTC One Max is definitely up there with the supersized phones/phablets. Not to be outdone by Apple, HTC have also incorporated fingerprint security technology as the HTC One Max boasts a fingerprint scanner on the back of the device. If you have a few apps which you use frequently, you can register three different finger prints to three apps to enable you to launch straight into the app of your choice.
Design-wise, the HTC One Max has been manufactured with aluminium and plastic and features HTC’s much acclaimed (and even bigger and more powerful) BoomSound speakers which are situated on the front of the One Max. The 5.9-inch screen is a Full HD LCD touchscreen with a sharp 373ppi (1080 x 1920 resolution). The HTC One Max operates on the most recent Android Jellybean 4.3 and on the inside it features a 1.7GHz Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor and 2GB of RAM. The powerful Snapdragon processor significantly speeds up downloads, online browsing and gaming and means that they battery can be charged up 40% faster than previously. You can choose either 16 or 32GB of built-in memory storage; however it comes with a micro-SD slot so it can be easily increased to 64GB with a micro-SD card. The battery has also been ramped up to a 3300mAh version which gives a very impressive talk time of up to 25 hours.
The rear-facing camera is a 4-megapixel ultrapixel which comes with a f2.0 aperture, 28mm lens and smart flash which gives you 5 different levels of flash. It also has 1080p Full HD video recording and a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera. The HTC One Max comes with the popular HTC Zoe and has a great new feature called Dual Capture which means that both cameras take a picture at the same time so you not only get a photo of the view in front of you but it also captures the photographers expression as they take the picture.
HTC have improved their BlinkFeed which delivers the latest and breaking news, this can be customised with many news and social media providers as it’s been integrated with Google, Instagram and some RSS feeds. HTC have also given their Sense UI (User Interface) a make-over which makes for a more efficient handset. The HTC One Max will be available from the end of October.
