Staking its claim for the world’s most powerful smartphone is the new Galaxy Note 3 from Samsung. Samsung have enjoyed success way above industry predictions with their Note range of smartphones-cum-phablets and the Galaxy Note 3 is the newest member of the Note family. Building on the great features of the Note 2, we get the lowdown on the Galaxy Note 3.
Unveiled at IFA 2013 in Berlin, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will be available later this month. The Note 3 boasts a beautiful 5.7-inch Full HD Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 386 pixels per inch and a thinner bezel which means the dimensions of the handset are almost identical to the Galaxy Note 2. The Note 3 features a leather-esque back and is just 8.4mm thick and weighs 167 grams.
The Note 3 comes with an enhanced S Pen with several new features; the main one is Air Command which then opens five further features. The additional 5 features include Action Memo for handwritten notes, Scrapbook which cleverly enables you to circle articles or content you want to keep and stores it into a scrapbook, S Finder to search your phone content, Screen Write where you can write comments on a screen you’ve captured and the very nifty Pen Window which enables you to access 8 commonly used apps (such as the calculator, your contacts, a browser etc) simply by drawing a box on the screen regardless of what you’re currently accessing on the handset.
The Galaxy Note 3 has a 13-megapixel rear facing camera which comes with an LED flash and a host of features such as Dual Shot, smile and face recognition, panorama, image stabilisation and HDR. The 5.7 screen is a great size to watch video and films particularly due to the high quality of the screen and colour clarity.
Operating on the latest Android Jellybean 4.3, the Note 3 boasts a powerful 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor. It has built-in storage of 32 or 64GB and a decent 3GB of RAM. All in all it’s a pretty impressive Phablet and is very likely to prove to be another bit hit for Samsung fans.
