The Sony Xperia SP offers great value and pretty impressive features for a mid-range Android smartphone.
With a stylish and solid aluminium design, the Xperia SP certainly looks the part with a Gorilla glass screen and weighing in at just over 150 grams. It also boasts a superbly bright 4.6-inch HD Reality Display using Sony’s Bravia TV technology with a high resolution of 319ppi, sharpness enhancement, contrast optimisation, top quality colour definition and noise reduction. The screen is powered by the latest second generation Mobile Bravia Engine, the Mobile Bravia Engine 2, which analyses the content of the images displayed and adjusts them to display them in the optimal way so they are super sharp with vibrant colours similar to picture quality you would see on a television screen. You can also share photos, videos and games with your HDTV simply by touching the NFC enabled Xperia SP with any NFC enabled Bravia TV.
The Sony Xpera SP handset operates with a 1.7GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor and has excellent battery power and provides almost 19 hours of talk time. It comes with 8GB of internal storage which can be expanded to 32GB with a microSD card.
The 8-megapixel camera also features some of the best of Sony’s camera technology including Exmor RS which means you can take amazingly detailed and clear photos even in poor light or dazzling brightness thanks to the HDR exposure and layering technology. The Xperia SP camera also includes Superior Auto mode and a 16X zoom, scene recognition, face detection, panorama and an LED flash.
The built-in NFC technology means that you can use ‘One-touch sharing’ with any other NFC-enabled mobile or laptop and you can backup photos and video using Sony’s wireless storage hub the Sony Personal Content Station. IN fact, you can even stream music by using a Bluetooth speaker or wireless headphones thanks to its NFC capabilities.
