Samsung Galaxy S7
After the popularity of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge phones in 2015, everyone is looking forward to Samsung’s next release, the S7. As ever, speculation and rumour are rife, but it is likely that, as in previous years, the new phone will be released towards the end of February to coincide with the Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona.
The video above shows a leak of what the phone might look like and there are rumours on Twitter that there might be up to 3 different versions – an S7, S7 Edge and S7 Edge plus.
So it looks like the curved edge design, first seem in the S6, will be retained for the new model.
Rumours can’t all be relied upon of course and there is speculation on a number of screen sizes from 5.2 and 5.8 screen to a plus version being up to 6 inches. It does seem likely that Samsung would want to have dual sizes at least to fit in with what Apple, Google Nexus and other manufacturers have been doing with recent releases.
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 processor is said to be powering the Samsung S7. The quality of the camera on the phone is unclear with rumours settling on a 5 megapixel front-facing camera but for the rear camera, there are suggestions from 13 megapixels to 16 or even 20 megapixels.
Whatever the final resolution, it is clear that the camera will be upgraded from the S6 and remain an important feature for users.
