Although some people are holding onto their phones longer nowadays, eventually an upgrade to a new model becomes inevitable. Either your phone is so old it is no longer supported by the manufacturer or you’ve actually used it so much, you’ve broken it. Then there are those of us that like to upgrade their phone every couple of years to ensure they benefit from the new features added, and before their current phone loses too much value.
If you’ve been taking a look at the new iPhone 15 series, you may be wanting to sell your current phone to help fund your new purchase. Or indeed you may be looking at the previous year’s iPhone (the 14 series), given there isn’t a massive amount of difference between the two. Either way, we think we may have found one of the best places to sell your iPhone, especially if you’ve taken good care of it.
Whilst it can be very tempting to trade your iPhone in via tech trade-in site or via Apple direct, you’ll usually be paid far less than the phone is actually worth. To realise the full cash amount for your iPhone, you need to sell it privately yourself. That alone comes with some risk and hassle of course given that you’re dealing with the seller yourself.
You may have heard of mobile phone marketplace; Mozillion. They’re a bit like eBay for phones, in that you sell the phone to someone, but Mozillion actually handle the entire process for you. You list and sell your phone on their site, but once sold to a private buyer, you send the phone into Mozillion (they send you a postage label for this), they check its all working and is in the condition you stated, and immediately release your money into your bank account – all within around 2 working days if you send it to them as soon as it sells – this way you’re guaranteed to be paid, don’t have to worry about returns, and they handle all communication with the seller – its an anonymous platform so you’re not handing your details out to a random person either.
Mozillion also add a 2 year warranty to your phone, so with that and the checks they do, buyers are willing to pay more for your assured phone compared to any old second-hand phone. More money for you and a better deal for them – win, win.
Let’s look at an example selling an iPhone based on today’s pricing, after any fees
An ‘Excellent’ condition iPhone 13 Pro 128GB traded in with a UK mobile network will get you up to £420.
That same phone, Apple direct will give you up to £430.
Sell it on Mozillion though and you’ll receive £480 – up to an extra £60, which can make a big difference if you’re buying another phone.
As Mozillion is a marketplace, you’re actually free to list it for sale at whatever price you choose. You just need to be honest about the condition of your phone – you can choose from Good, Excellent or Good As New.
Exclusive code for iPhone sellers
Here at Direct Mobiles we love to blag an exclusive deal, so if you sell your iPhone on Mozillion and use code DIRECTMOBILES20 you’ll get an extra £20 on top of the sale price – that £480 would become £500 – straight into your account. Not bad.
You’ll also find other sellers on Mozillion selling refurbished iPhones, so you may just find your next phone too. All phones sold and bought on the platform are tested by Mozillion themselves and given a 2 year warranty, and you can save yourself up to £300 compared to buying a brand new iPhone.
And if its not for you, then check out the other best places to sell your phone for cash.
