Amazon Prime and YouTube Premium added to list of network benefits for customers
Vodafone, the third largest mobile network in the UK, has announced the latest expansion of its ever-enhancing entertainment offering. And, more than that, the company’s latest offering is an industry first.
On July 21 Vodafone announced that it had teamed up with media giants Amazon and YouTube to give its customers an even greater array of choice when it comes to the consumption of television, film and all things video.
Vodafone Unlimited and Unlimited Max customers are now able to get exclusive access to every feature that forms part of Amazon Prime, or can access YouTube Premium without having to pay any additional costs.
Vodafone Entertainment customers are already able to access Spotify Premium, Now TV and Sky Sports Mobile with certain contract deals, some of which can also be attained by signing up with other mobile providers, but Vodafone is the very first to strike a deal that means it is able to offer its customers Amazon Prime and YouTube Premium as part of a contract deal. And, what’s more, Twitch Prime is now also included!
YouTube Premium allows users to listen to music without having to first go through a series of ads, means songs can be downloaded to be played offline, and – perhaps most impressively – enables YouTube music to be played even when the screen is put into hibernation mode.
Amazon Prime is home to some of the most interesting, innovative, powerful and emotive television shows and movies available on demand. With award-winning series such as Bosch and 30 Rock, and acclaimed films including Victoria, Train To Busan and Knives Out, Amazon Prime offers an almost unlimited collection of spectacular multimedia treats for all ages.
Speaking in the wake of the deal’s announcement, Max Taylor, Consumer Director at Vodafone UK, said: “Keeping our customers connected to the people and things that they love the most is our number one priority. That is why we are delighted to be the first UK operator to give our customers access to Amazon Prime and YouTube Premium as part of their mobile plan.”
Heather Rivera, Vice President and Global Head of Product Partnerships at YouTube, said: “We are so pleased to be working with Vodafone to give their customers the choice of YouTube Premium with their subscription.”
Lisa Leung, Director, Head of Prime at Amazon.co.uk, said: “We are delighted to offer Vodafone customers Amazon Prime membership for the duration of their contract.”
Amazon Prime and YouTube Premium can be part of contract packages that begin from the relatively low price of £22 per month and you can visit the Vodafone online shop here.
