Microsoft have recently added to their Lumia series of smartphones with the news of two new handsets which are expected to be available in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia from next month. The Microsoft Lumia 435 and 532 are both compact smartphones which are intended for the budget end of the mobile phone market.  Here are the details of their specs and features.

It’s thought that the Lumia 435 will arrive in the UK in March and it will come in bright orange, bright green, black and white. The rear covers are interchangeable so you can change the colour of your handset according to your mood. Weighing 134 grams and just over 11mm thick, the Lumia 435 is solid and robust and has a 2-megapixel camera on the rear and a 0.3-megapixel camera on the front.

With a decent 1560mAh battery and 8GB of built-in storage which can be expanded up to 128GB with a microSD card, the Lumia 435 currently runs on the Windows 8.1 operating system but can be upgraded to Windows 10 once it’s released. Windows 8.1 has some great features including the Cortana virtual assistant, a Word Flow keyboard, a notification centre and Live Folders.

Powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 1.2GHz processor and 1GB of RAM, the Lumia 532 comes with 8GB of onboard memory which can be increased to a maximum of 128GB. The Lumia 532 has a 5-megapixel rear facing camera and a VGA camera on the front and the battery which is the same as the one used in the Lumia 435 should provide around 12 hours of talk time on 3G. Colour-wise, the Lumia 532 comes in the same range of colours as the 435 and it will also run initially on Windows 8.1.
