Samsung have recently launched two great new budget smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy E5 and the Galaxy E7. Both handsets will be heading to UK shores very soon so here’s the lowdown on these great value smartphones.
Aimed at the middle of the smartphone market, the Galaxy E5 and E7 offer some great specs at a fraction of the cost of a premium mobile phone.
First up is the Galaxy E5 which comes with a 5-inch 720p Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 294 pixels per inch. At the moment, the E5 will run on Android KitKat 4.4.4 operating system which will be upgradeable to Android Lollipop 5.0 in due course. The Samsung Galaxy E5 is powered by a quad-core, 64-bit Snapdragon 1.2GHz processor with a generous 2GB of RAM. On-board storage is also good with 16GB of built-in memory which can be expanded up to 64GB with the use of a microSD card. On the rear of the E5 is an 8-megapixel camera with autofocus and an LED flash and on the front is a 5-megapixel camera for selfie fans. The Galaxy E5 boasts a sturdy 2400mAh battery and is available in 3 colours which are white, brown and black.
The Samsung Galaxy E7 is the larger handset of the two and features a 5.5-inch 720 x 1280 Super AMOLED screen and will also come with Android KitKat 4.4.4. Powered by the same processor as the Galaxy E5, the E7 also has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable built-in storage (max 64GB). The rear-facing camera on the Galaxy E7 is an impressive 13-megapixel shooter which comes with an LED flash and autofocus. The front-facing 5-megapixel camera is the same as the one featured on the E5. There’s also a very good sized battery in the Galaxy E7, a 2950mAh piece of kit which should provide a decent amount of talk time and internet browsing. The E7 will also come in the same colour options as the Galaxy E5.
