There’s no rest for those clever people at Samsung as there always seems to be a handful of new smartphones in the pipeline. The latest we have is that the Galaxy Mega 2, which has been available in Asia for a few months, could be arriving on our shores soon and there are three other new Samsung mobile phones which could be with us in the next few months or so. Here’s what we know about Samsung’s newest smartphones so far:
Galaxy Mega 2
The first handsets in the Galaxy Mega smartphone series came with either a 5.8-inch or a whopping 6.3-inch display. For the Galaxy Mega 2 Samsung have gone with a 6-inch 720p resolution screen with some subtle improvements on the original. The Mega 2 is a mid-range smartphone-come-phablet with an 8-megapixel camera on the rear, a 2.1-megapixel camera on the front and 16GB of built-in memory. In terms of power it runs on a quad-core 1.5GHz processor, 1.5GB of RAM and a decent 3200mAh battery.
Galaxy A5
After Samsung received great feedback on their Galaxy Alpha smartphone, the mobile phone world is buzzing with the news that Samsung are planning a new series of handsets called the ‘A-series’. There are already rumours concerning a smartphone known as the Samsung Galaxy A5, a mid-range mobile phone which will boast similar design and style qualities to the Galaxy Alpha. The Galaxy A5 is expected to sport a 5-inch 720p resolution Super AMOLED screen with a rear 13-megapixel camera and a 5-megappixel front facing camera. It will be powered by a Snapdragon 400 processor as well as a 2300mAh battery. It will also come with 16GB of built-in memory and many other great specs.
The SM-G360H
At the other end of the spectrum to the Mega 2 is an alleged new compact smartphone – the SM-G360H – which iscurrently being manufactured. The rumoured new handset is thought to come with a 4.1-inch display with a 800 x 480 display. It’s likely that due to the size and specs, the SM-G360H is destined to be a budget phone which has been specifically designed for emerging phone markets. Other details that we have are that it will feature a 5-megapixel camera on the rear and a 0.3-megapixel camera on the front and it will feature a 1.2GHz processor with 1GB of RAM.
Tizen Phone
Previously most of Samsung’s smartphones have used the Android operating system but there’s been speculation for a while now that Samsung are planning on unveiling a new Tizen smartphone. Tizen is Intel’s open-source operating system which is similar to Android and has already featured in Samsung’s newer Galaxy Gear smartwatches. We could see the new Samsung Tizen smartphone soon as the latest report indicate that its due to launch initially in India in November. Samsung are apparently keen to keep prices low for new Tizen customers so their handsets will be aimed at the budget conscious end of the market.
