New apps are being released all the time and it can be difficult to keep on top of them. Fear not, the team here at Direct Mobiles can keep you on top of the hottest new apps. Here are 3 of our favourites:
Timberman
Timberman is the latest new arcade-style game which is storming up the app charts. It’s already been downloaded in excess of one million times on Android and is topping the App Store charts in numerous countries around the world.
Timberman is free to download from Apple’s App Store and the Google Play Store and is available to anyone running a device which uses iOS 4.3 or later and from Android 2.2 onwards. There’s also another version of Timberman called the Golden Edition which costs around £0.69 for devices running on iOS only and comes with additional levels and extras to unlock and is ad-free.
The game itself is easy to play and pretty addictive. The aim of the game is to chop down a never-ending tree whilst dodging the branches and making sure they don’t hit and kill you. That sounds simple enough except the branches literally keep coming down at you thick and fast and you need to dodge them by moving either side of the tree as fast as you can. The more you chop at the tree, the closer those branches get to you and of course there’s also a certain amount of time in which you get to chop down the tree. As you reach various scores there’s also the option to unlock different lumberjacks to keep chopping that tree down. Lots of fun for all ages.
Kim Kardashian Hollywood
Also creating quite a stir in the AppStore is the new Kim Kardashian gaming app – Kim Kardashian Hollywood – which is only available on iOS so far. Launched less than a month ago the KK app taps into the current obsession with celebrity culture as you join the lady herself on the red carpet as well as creating your very own budding celebrity.
As well as customising all aspects of your aspiring celebrity’s look and style with some helpful tips from KK, you also get to mingle with fellow celebrities, fans and paparazzi and ,of course, spend time with Kim herself. You can choose your career so if you’ve always fancied being a top model, an A-list actor or a famous designer now is your chance. There’s plenty of opportunity to check out million-dollar houses, luxury shops and, of course, the hottest clubs and parties. As well as hanging out in Los Angeles, the app also features New York and Miami with celebs to date and go out with and you can also invite your friends along via Facebook.
The app is free to download but does feature a whole host of in-app purchases and is suitable for 12 years and upwards.
Ultratext
If you want your iMessages to stand out and grab someone’s attention then Ultratext could be the app for you. With great reviews and voted as one of Apple’s best new apps, Ultratext enables you to make a fun, colourful and unmissable GIF message in a matter of seconds.
Ultratext is free to download and requires iOS7 or later and can be used on an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. Similar to standard texting, Ultratext works in iMessage. All you need to do is download the app and type the message you want Ultratext to turn into a GIF. You can also add a photo or change the colour of the background or text font and then decide whether you’re going to text it or post it to Facebook, Instagram or even email. The GIF doesn’t actually appear until the text message is opened so the recipient gets the full colourful effect. It’s a fantastically simple yet effective app and it definitely another reason to get yourself an iPhone if you haven’t got one already!
