If you like your phones with a keyboard and with the capability of running your office on the move, the Blackberry Q10 could be right up your street.
Launched in April of this year, the Q10 was the second of the new Blackberry handsets unveiled by RIM to feature their new and redesigned Blackberry 10 operating system.
The upmarket Blackberry Q10 offers a superb quality handset which features a 3.1-inch OLED touch-screen, a traditional-style QWERTY keyboard and pretty impressive battery life which should give you almost 14 hours of talk time. Powered by the Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor and 2GB of RAM, the Blackberry Q10 boasts 16GB of internal storage which can be easily increased with a microSD card.
Available in a choice of black or white, the Q10 weighs in at 139g and comes with an 8-megapixel auto focus rear camera and a 2-megapixel fixed-focus front camera. The rear facing camera comes with a time-shift mode (so you can select particular elements of your picture to customise them into the perfect shot), image stabilisation and a super resolution 5x digital zoom. It also has ‘Back Side’ illumination for low-light conditions, 1080p HD video recording and video stabilisation.
The revamped QWERTY keyboard comes with next-word prediction, auto-correction and the ability to get to know the way you type with its ingenious personalised learning engine. It also features ‘Instant Action’ which allows you to type as well as using other apps simultaneously by the use of some lever shortcuts on the home-screen.
The Blackberry 10 operating system has been designed with a powerful and fast browser and a great built-in sharing feature which means you can quickly email links or post them to your social media with a couple of swipes to the screen.
The Q10 also comes with some great in-built apps including:
– Blackberry Balance which gives you two profiles so you can keep your work and personal use separate and protect any sensitive work information securely,
– Blackberry Hub which integrates all of your email, texts and social media and can be accessed from anywhere on your phone,
– Blackberry Remember and BBM which now includes video-chat and Screen Share so you can share photos, your browser view or even urgent business documents.
